Well round 1 of the 2017-2018 DNL season is complete with pretty astounding results.

Division 1

Fusion set the pace in week 1 beating Pro Physique 43 – 26 and they didn’t stop there topping the table with an unbeaten record of 8 wins 0 defeats. Dubai Hurricanes came close finishing the round in second place with only 1 defeat to the┬ádivisional winners. Their head to head score being Fusion 35, Hurricanes 24.

Player of the match winners for fusion include Olivia Mason, Carly Lewis and Lesley Kirby

At the other end of the table Skechers struggled with only 1 win to the name against DC2. The had some close battles but in the end were the first team to be relegated. The battle to see who would join them in Division 2 was close fought, 3 teams ending the round with 2 victories apiece. The deciding factor then was the bonus points accumulated throughout the round. Unfortunately it was Storm who failed to get the required points and who will join Skechers in Division 2 for round 2.

Division 2

Again we had a stand out team that succeeded in defeating every team put in front of them. OF & C started the season with a win against DC3 and didn’t look back. Good luck in division 1 ladies. JA Dragon Flies came a close second and join OF & C in Division 1 with only one defeat to the eventual division winners.

Player of the match winners for OF & C include: Abi Dawes, Jill Conlon and Sara Donovan

Things were closer at the bottom of the table but it was Jess Jems and Tiger teens, totaling 3 wins between them, that will be playing in Division 3 for round 2.

Division 3

Once again one team stood out from the rest winning all of their matches, some in extraordinary fashion. Congratulations to Goal Diggers and good luck in Division 2 ladies. The team to join them in division 2 were Two Humps, a long standing social team who were as surprised as any to see themselves in a promotion spot. Congratulations ladies, you deserve it with only 1 loss to your name.

At the bottom of the division and the league we find Phoenix, a new team last year. Unfortunately phoenix did not manage a win in Round 1. Better luck in Round 2 ladies.
